As part of the Titanic Centenary Commemoration, Sirius Arts Centre is honoured to exhibit photographs from the Mount Brandon Hotel Collection. Taken in local professional photography studios, these images capture travellers prior to embarking on journeys that would change their lives forever. The exhibition will also include images of Cobh Street Scenes, from the Lawrence Collection, courtesy of the National Library of Ireland. 19th March 2012: Shorecrest High School Marching Band - The Shorecrest High School Marching Band return to Cobh. 120 musicians will arrive in Cobh to experience the Titanic Trail walking tour on the morning of 19th March. After their tour they will march through the town and play a Titanic commemorative performance in the promenade.

23rd March: Lions Club Ceili Mór - The Cobh Lions CLub Ceili Mór comes to Cobh on Friday 23rd of March in Cobh Gaa Club from 9pm to midnight. Like in the steerage class on the Titanic, a great night of ceoil agus craic will be had with local musicians, traditional music as well as The Great Island Set Dancers. Music by Kalamzoo and Tickets at €5 it's a night not to be missed.

8th April 2012 to 8th May: Beginning from the 8th of April "Bonny Cummins" will display her unique paintings in the Commodore Hotel. Bonny held a close relationship with "Millvina Dean- the last survivor of the Titanic. Bonny has taken her inspiration from Millvina in creating these pieces of the Titanic at Queenstown. Many of the works were co-signed by Millvina, who loved Cobh. Also featured is a painting inspired by the story of Patrick Kidney, Postmaster at Queenstown and the last man to leave Titanic April 11th 1912 in his official capacity.

9th April 2012: The Balmoral - A visit from the Cruise Liner Balmoral with a welcome and entertainment for all on the Cobh Quayside.

10th April 2012: Irish Ancestry Research Centre Genealogy - IARC will hold a workshop in the Commodore Hotel at 12pm. This workshop is suitable for anyone with a keen interest in their family history. IARC will show you how to trace your ancestors on the Titanic using passenger lists in conjunction with other available sources. 9th to 15th April: Maritime Fair - During the days of this centenary week, like any other week of any other year, visitors and locals alike can mingle around the many shops, restaurants and pubs in this idyllic and unique sea-side town. For this special week, Cobh will also be home to stalls and markets set up in designated areas where visitors can relax and enjoy many styles of food and other things on offer.

11th April 2012: A National Tribute - Exactly 100 years on from when the Titanic arrived in Cork Harbour and the last of the passengers and supplies boarded her, Cobh will play host to a national tribute which will include a  commemoration ceremony and a Navy fleet review.

11th to 14th April 2012: "An Irish Connection": A series of flagship concerts are scheduled to take place from 7.00pm to 9.00pm from the 11th to the 14th of April. These outdoor concerts which will feature prominent musicians and performers will tell the story of the Titanic's connection with the island of Ireland through many genres of music. The lineup of international artists will include Cara O'Sullivan, Eddi Reader (Fairground Attraction) and Paul Byrom. The concerts will take place in Cobh on the Promenade by the waterfront. There will be an exclusive ticketed seated area for premium viewing for which tickets are now on sale. The concert will run nightly from 7pm-9pm beginning on the 11th of April, the day the Titanic sailed from Cobh and finishing on the 14th of April, the night when the Titanic hit the iceberg.

Tickets for the exclusive seating area are limited and available online at www.tickets.ie, from the Titanic 100 Cobh 2012 office, Westbourne Place, Cobh and from the Irish Examiner Office on Lapps Quay Cork. Tickets are priced at €20.00 each excluding on-line booking fee. Restricted viewing standing areas on the street adjacent to the concert are also available at no charge.

11th to 14th April 2012: Titanic Rowing Challenge: Come and see Rushbrooke Rowing Club & friends row for 82 hours in the town centre on rowing machines, non-stop, day and night over 4 days to retrace the journey time that it took for the Titanic to reach the Iceberg.

11th and 12th April: Titanic Dinner Evening: Gilberts Restaurant in Cobh will be hosting a special Titanic Dinner evening with replica of the 1st class menu available during Titanic's maiden voyage. 12th to 13th April 2012:MV Marco Polo - An overnight visit from Cruise & Maritime Voyages MV Marco Polo on her special Titanic cruise, arriving 4.00pm on the 12th of April and departing at 5.00pm on the 13th. A warm welcome and open air entertainment will be provided during their stay.

12th April 2012: Titanic's Last Waltz: 12 noon, Sirius Arts Centre: Flemish ensemble Grupetto bring an authentic and historically truthful reconstruction to the music played during the last night aboard the Titanic. 14th-15th April: Veteran and Vintage Car Run and Show: This special veteran Vintage and Classic Car Run will commemorate the tragedy of the sinking, on her maiden voyage, of the "unsinkable" Titanic. This 20-mile trip  will start at the Commodore hotel in Cobh at 11am, with a pit stop in Fota and running on to Midleton for lunch. The run includes a free tour of the Jameson Distillery. Sunday will see the vintage cars on display on the streets on Cobh all day.

14th April: National Search and Rescue Display - by the Irish Coast Guard. This display will be held in the afternoon and is a must see for the entire family as it promises to be a search and rescue extravaganza with a difference..........

15th April: Titanic Remembrance Service - An ecumenical church service to mark the 100 year century of the Titanic tragedy will be given in St. Colman's Cathedral, Cobh at 2p.m. This will be followed by a wreath-laying and closing ecumenical service in the centre of Cobh town at 3:30p.m.

15th April: Great Island 10 Road Race: This year's race will take place on April 15th at 10.30am again for the benefit of the Irish Cancer Society, with special emphasis on pallitive care. Taking in some of the most beautiful scenery that the Great Island of Cobh and Cork Harbour has to offer, the route also poses a challenge to the serious runner and occasional runner/ walker a like while at the same time helping cancer support. A 5km walk will also take place on the same day for those less inclined to run and who want to show their support.

20th -21st April: Titanic 100 Cobh Golf Classic. A special golf tournament will be hosted by Cobh Golf Club. A large Gala Dinner and prize-giving by a well known Sport Celebrity, music and other entertainment will be held on the evening of the 21st of April. Christian Aid Belfast to Cobh Charity Cycle 15th-20th May - Christian Aid Titanic Cycle Challenge 2012 which ties in with the Titanic centenary celebration series in Cobh. The key element of this marathon cycle event is to celebrate the Irish roots of this great ship in its centenary year. This cycle is another link to bring Belfast and Cobh together. Starting at Belfast’s Harland and Wolff shipyard, on Wednesday morning 16th May, where the Titanic was built, this 280 mile cycle will take cyclists through some of Ireland’s most beautiful countryside, finishing at Cobh, on Saturday 19th May, the Titanic’s last port of call.

Sea Sunday Service 20th May 2012 - Rev. Brian O'Reilly, the Rector of Cobh Church of Ireland community will be hosting a "Sea Sunday Service" on Sunday 20th May. This service acknowledges and celebrates all seafarers who work around our coastline. The service, this year, will be broadcast live by RTE Radio.

The Titanic Centenary would not be complete without a maritime presence so our maritime event will incorporate Cobh's already very successful annual Cobh People's Regatta, one of the longest running regattas in europe.

Spike Island Jailbreak Triathlon

Cobh Triathlon Club will hold their inaugural triathlon on August 25th in the spectacular setting of Cork Harbour. Competitors will begin their "Jailbreak" journey from Spike Island and swim the 1.8KM from Spike Island and will then cycle and run through the beautiful countryside of the Great Island.
